Explore the town centre. Find enormous, colourful bears. Win some great prizes!
Southport town centre welcomes ten colourful bears, all inspired by the classic ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ children’s picture book.
Visitors can explore the town centre in search of the hand-painted sculptures, which feature unique designs from talented artists and illustrators.
The Bear Hunt trail is a free event and perfect for all ages. Complete questions at either seven or ten trail locations, using the trail map to guide you along the way.
Trail Maps
Use your trail map to discover the locations of each bear and answer bear-themed questions using the clues on each sculpture.
Printed maps can be picked up at The Atkinson Library, ASDA, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Vue Cinema, and Waterstones from 1 February.

Entry and Prizes
Completed maps can be dropped off at The Atkinson Library, Waterstones or you can enter your answers online.
Two lucky winners will be drawn at random after 27 April. Winners can choose between two prizes…
A trip to Legoland Windsor or a Nintendo Switch with games from GAME Southport.
Complete the shorter trail (1-7) and receive one entry. Complete the full trail (1-10) and receive three entries into the draw.
Colouring Competition
Take a break from the trail and design a brilliant bear!
Stop off at one of Southport’s cafes or eateries for some refreshments and enter the colouring competition while you’re there.
Trail prize terms and conditions
1- Only one entry will be counted per email address provided. 2 – The winning entries will be picked at random after 27 April 2025. 3 – Those chosen will be contacted by the email that has been provided. If there is no response to the contact after seven days, another winner will be selected. 4 – The Legoland prize consists of tickets for up to four people for entry to Legoland Windsor over two days and an overnight stay at the Legoland Windsor Resort Hotel.
Colouring competition prize terms and conditions
1- One entry from all submitted (across venues) will be chosen as the winner after 27 April 2025 2- The winner can choose between a prize of either £50 Waterstones or £50 Great Reads vouchers, as well as some official ‘Bear Hunt’ gifts.
